if they got into boost,
besides boost on sequentals would spool up at like below 2k
that **** would be loud!!!
why the hell would a body shop be driving it, if my body shop drove my car farther than arround the shop id prob go off,

1)let them know someone saw them driving it.. and let them know your gonna have the car checked out, and if anythings wrong their paying for it
2) go get compression check...persue it from there

Why in the world would they be driving it around? Speed drying your paint or something?

I could understand if it was a tuner and they were test driving it, but there is no reason for a body shop to be driving it no 20 freaking miles!

I would have a cow if someone did that to my car. There is just no reason.

What freekin' morons!!! Now THAT is what I'd call a straight through exhaust With that little backpressure/restriction it's definately possible they could pop the motor quite easily if you don't have any sort of fuel upgrade or ecu upgrade to compensate for the potential (probable) boost creep...that is IF they even get into boost which I imagine they would. I don't care how good of a body shop they are they shouldn't do **** like that against your wishes. I'd go in there and bitch them out hard and ask them how they'd like it if you took their wives for a test drive. See how much they'd like that If anything does turn out to be wrong with the car afterwards I'd consult a lawyer as well...you never know how the shop will react in a situation like this. Just my .02¢

That **** is really fucked up. No shop has the right to drive your car around town, unless you told them too or some tuning has been done. Imagine if they ended up crashing your car, you would be fucked. Also, if they needed to take it to another shop, they can either have it towed or let you drive your car.

Make sure to have a compression test as soon as possible. The shop could have definitely fucked up your engine. The compression test will tell you the health of your engine. Also, before paying the bill write out a statement that you were not happy with them driving your car. Most likely if your engine gets fucked up they will not pay for it. However, having a statement on the bill, will definitely help you out if you have to go to small claims court. Also, give them a check and as soon as you leave their shop stop the payment. This will give you time to have a compression test to see if they fucked anything up.

Also, the wife **** was ******' funny; that **** had me laughing so much.

That's one reason PFC's and Haltechs are good. With the PFC, you just go in and change the rev limiter down to like 2000-2500rpms, then take the Commander with you when you drop off the car. That way if they try to take it out, they cant really do much cause the rev limiter is so low, and since you have the Commander with you, they cant change it back. 2500rpms is plenty for them to be able to move it around the shop too. Hope everything turns out alright with your car!

My body shop did the same thing,i was only getting 4 lbs of boost and i have a new engine with only 2500 miles on it and turbo's 5000 on it, I'll i have is a downpipe, and they said with the cat completly off my boost was reading 12,and i figured as long as the didn't go above 12 i'd be alright,i'm sure the just drove it down the road, cause they said it was screaming.

my friend's family owns a bodyshop, we always use his customer cars to get around town to get food etc. we even busted crazy donuts in one of their customer m3 once hehehehe.....

because FDs are so attractive, people think of them like ferraris or porsches, when u paint it at a bodyshop, makesure you find one that does so many nice sport cars, they don't even give a **** about RX7s.

or you can drop the car off, stay there, watch them sand down the car and paint it, watch the owner close the shop, take his keys and come back next day, open the shop for him wait for them to finish your car... I probalby do that if i paint it at some bodyshop i don't know, hehehe...........
