I also have the stage 2s and drove my car with them for the first time yesterday. Mine are parallel. There was an obvious split second delay before the boost came on when comparing them to stock seq. I also have a midpipe and wasn't all that happy about how loud my car is now with these turbos. I wasn't expecting a huge difference in noise but boy was I wrong. I can't really say a whole lot about how much better they pull because I am having boost control issues and only saw 7 lbs. By the looks of them I am expecting a large power gain though. The compressor blades are 16% bigger and a 6 star instead of 5 (stock).

widebody2,

I'm non-seq as well and have a boost leak. My car is in the shop and I should know very soon if I'm going to need a rebuild. How about a mod list. Please let us know how you like the turbos once you have it all straightened out.

Thanks,
Andrew

LOL, I have boost issues, widebody2 has boost issues, and twstd rx has boost issues and all are parallel - hmmmmm...this is supposed to be for sequential guys!! Anyway, I'm selling my car this fall so I'm going back to sequential so I can enjoy the car around town while I have it for a few more months. I'm having trouble getting boost and the car at this time doesn't pull. The wheels are huge and the power is going to be there - just have to work out the boost issue. I'm going to KD Rotary to go back to sequential, figure out what the boost deal is and if we do I'll do some runs. I'd imagine that full boost would come on by 4K rpms running parallel - can't comment on sequential. I'll keep you all posted though.

So now you are selling the car???
Did you ever get any power numbers out of it???
If not, do you ever plan to?

Hmmm,
SO far, anytime someone has gotten something new and exciting(M2 twins, BNR twins) they have not been able to get them to work right. How long have we waited for results from the M2 twins, now 3 people with the BNRs are having troubles. Are these troubles based on these new great turbos? Dont get me wrong, I would like to see specs so I can decide what, if anything, i want to do. It just seems to hype everyone up. I mean, if you are one of the first people to get something and you hype it on the board, you have to show some kind of results. I think there are 6 people with these 2 types of twins and lots of hype but then plenty of reasons that a dyno run or something cant be done. Hmmm
Basically, dont start a post on the subject if they are no immediate results. It saves everyone time. These posts build up to about 50-100 posts, quickly. And I, like others are interested in a post that says 'My M2 Twins'.I am thinking, good hard numbers. But then I read 85 posts and what do I get on post 85, um, I still have boost/oil leak, so cant do anything. Make sure they work, get a proven dyno, then post. Just stay quite until you have numbers. I want to see them, but these false posts with talk of problems(no problem if the post is titled M2 twins installed but not working) I will probably leave that post alone and hopefully someone w/ knowledge can help you out. But just because you got something, doesnt mean its postable.
Hell, I found a new shiny quarter yesterday, but I wont post anything until I actually spend it.

My .02,
Steve

I think the boost issue you guys are experiencing is the large ported wastgate on the BNR twins. You need to adjust your wastegate control, I think its opening up too much.

I would throw a $5 Home Depot Racing boost controller on the wastegate line and turn it about 3/4 the way closed then start making small adjustments from there to get it where you want it.

Yes, put in the Manual Boost Control.
The same thing happened to me. I have the BNR normal rebuild with ported wastegate. At first the boost is only 8psi for secondary. Figure the wastegate opens too much being ported.
So installed the Home Depot valve, and able to bring it back to 10psi.
Watch out for spikes though, if you have spikes, you then need to put valve on the precontrol line as well.

My setting is 1/2 turn out for wastegate, and 3/8 out on precontrol.

My turbos are bone stock and my boost LEAK is very loud. It kicks in at about 4psi and sounds very much like the stock bov venting. I have swapped out the bov to no avail. Screw it, I'm letting Jerry at Clean and Fast deal with it while it's there for a clutch fork swap. Oh, and I do have the home depot controller on the wg line.

Twisd rx, are the lines to the y pipe and bov hooked up correctly? What's the boost pattern?

Yeah, I'm thinking that the problem is with the wastegate since I had no leaks before, and the stock turbos ran great. These just seem to start pulling and then flatten out - going to Home Depot and will have everything figured out by Tuesday - WITH A DYNO - Stevil, I couldn't agree with you more. I am one of those who are guilty of posting from being excited and this post I made is basically worthless. Same as all the M2 updates with no data or numbers. One good thing so far is there isn't a hint of oil leakage at all so far. I think the carson seals are sealing pretty well. Can't wait till this car goes sideways. I won't post until I have a dyno in my hand

Tim,

Ryan installed the boost controller. Honestly, I'm not sure if it's done correctly. I know Ryan has installed at least 3 or 4 of these manual controllers. I'm non-seq so I really don't have a boost pattern

I think this post of yours pushed me over the edge. All the guy said was that he wasn't sure if it was done correctly and you jump in the guy's ****.

You are a *HYPOCRITE.* You implore others (via your screenname) to not be a rikki, BUT YOU'RE THE BIGGEST ******* RIKKI ON THIS FORUM.

I'll be back in NJ over the Christmas holidays, and maybe we'll get to meet. I'll tell you all this to your face (no threats or anything, I don't want to "beat you up" or some nonsense) and I'll ask you, "Ryan, why are you so defensive? It's an *internet forum* fer Chrissake--stop being such a Whiny Little Bitch."

Like many others, I'm through reading your literary diarrhea....

Ryan,

I suggest you go back and read the post again. I never said it was done incorrectly. I said you installed it and I didn't know. I also stated you had installed several of these before. Tim asked me a question and I answered it. If you remember correctly you only slept for three hours the night before you worked on my car and you were hungover!

I was very pleased with non-seq work you did on my car and I was very grateful as well. Several weeks later you installed my LG SMIC, and boost controller. When I arrived I had 14 psi and no leaks. When you were done I had a boost leak and what sounded like an exaust leak. Not to mention that you broke the nipples on the plastic elbow on my primary turbo. Did I come on here and blast you, NO, I didn't.

Over the past month or so you have been hailing the virtues of PFS, posting as though you were some sort of rotary god, and doing your best to alienate your friends and aquaintences on this forum! Has hanging out with Peter turned you into a Petah Jr? It would seem so because you have been acting quite a bit different since your motor popped and you've been spending so much time with Peter.

Let us all bow and extold the virtues of Rikki, the great exulted one.

You had no reason whatsoever to jump on me. I have purposely stayed out of this whole mess with you and whomever you were fueding with on a given day until now. If you feel the need to respond to this, please do so in a PM. I WILL NOT post again on this subject.

Guys, I'm sorry this ended up here in a thread about BNR ungraded turbos. It has no business being here but I had to respond to Ryan's bs.
