BLown Turbos now what?

Blew my turbos , warranty covering 75% of new ones.

Are the BNR stage 1 turbos any good? Do they require in special modifications for the stage 1? What is the turn around time with BNR, do they need the stock cores first or do they have some already done and ready to ship? Please advise me if anyone knows, if anyone has BNR stage 1 , how do you like them.

Right now i have dp, cb, and a blitz smic on the way, what else will need to make the BNR stage 1s work in a reliable streetable manner. can i keep the stock ecu and run stock boost, please advise, oh yeah and i will probably get a walbro fuel pump too..

thanks

I don't think you need any modification to make them fit if that's what you mean...

You might wanna consider going single as well. Not sure if the warranty will cover that. If they ar e payying 75% and you wanna stay with the twin setup might as well go for BNR Stage 2 IMHO.

Do they give you cash? If so, how much would 75% of new replacement Mazda twins be? Probably a hell of a lot.. damn dealer parts.

get the new 99 twins, it would be easier to get since its a mazda part. I doubt they would be willing to pay for the single unless you got hookup at a shop....

I would strongly think about the single upgrade. But it's all about how much money you want to spend. Are they going to just give you a check, or will they want to be more involved in the transaction than that?
I'm going single in the near future. The single is so good for the car. It gets so much heat out of the motor.
Although. You already bought a Blitz intercooler. I don't believe you will be able to use that with a single turbo. I'm not sure though. That's something to think about. If that's the case, BNR's seem to be a good choice. I believe they make more power than the 99 spec turbos.
Good luck.

If the warranty company is going to issue you a check for 75% of the stock turbos then it's going to be a lot of money. I would suggest the BNR stage 3 turbos.

Why would the warranty pay for a single turbo setup? All they will probably want to do is replace with a rebuild or new Mazda twins. A lot of warranty companies are pretty tough. But if they want stock Mazda parts, go for the 99 twins. If you want more power, the BNR turbos are great but you won't feel a lot of difference at 10 psi. With the Stage 3s you would but you would definitely need a different ecu. The Stage 1s would probably be ok at stock boost with the stock ecu. Stages 2 and 3 put out similar numbers but stage 3 turbos have more response and can be run non-seq with no lag. It's all what you want out of the car. BNR does offer a nice warranty.

Go to the "Upgraded twins dyno results" thread and look at the dyno comparison between the M2 ball-bearing turbos running sequential, and the BNR Stage 3s running non-seq - even at 2500 rpms, the BNRs had 25 more rwhp (NON-SEQ) - these turbos are for real.
