Blown motor? Sounds scary...

hey guys, im pretty new to this forum, ive always liked rx-7, but my friends keep telling me about blowing motors... which is the only reason keeping me away from rx-7's, so i have a question, i know that blown motor happens alot for a rx-7, but is there any way to stop it? for example, a DSM have crankwalk, but if you swap the engine with a 6-bolt, your off for a pretty good start. so is there anything like this for a rx-7? or is it just the way it works and there is no way to help it but to thrown in countless amount of money to rebuild it?

Either buy a super low mileage car or one with a new engine in it already. Keep it stock/near stock, take good care of it, and you should have a fairly trouble-free car.

BTW, I saw your WTB post in the Classifieds, and $10K isn't going to be enough for a decent car. You're either going to have to settle for one with a salvage title or one that needs some work.
