I thought I'd share this since I've seen a few posts from people looking for BOP templates. I recently decided I needed some block off plates and didn't feel like buying them since I can usually get a friend of mine to waterjet parts for me. I measured all the stud positions and scanned the gaskets and drew up all 9 that I knew people used. They are:
ISC
Double Throttle
ACV
ACV tube
Split Air
AWS tube
OMP
EGR
AWS
I've attached a couple of 1:1 scale dxfs of the BOPs. One includes the descriptions of them and the other is the plates alone in case you want to take the waterjetting route like I did. You'll need some kind of CAD viewer to open them - if you don't have one you might try edrawings or solidworks viewer from here http://www.solidworks.com/pages/services/downloads.html . You should be able to just print these out 1:1 and just cut around the lines. Should also be useful if you are one of those people puzzled about what plate is what from the rx7store. All bolt holes are M6x1.0, you can get them at a hardware store or mcmaster. Enjoy
No problem guys. I forgot to mention that I was not able to test fit the double throttle plate since I was not removing it, but I made it in the same way I made the others, so it should be fine. Somebody can let me know if there's a problem with it.
Thanks for comments! One more thing I need to add - the plate that I referred to as "OMP" is actually not for the OMP, it's for a turbo oil passage. Not sure why I called it OMP. Will have to draw up another one for that sometime.
I know this is an old old old post but I just wanted to confirm that they work. I sent these off to sendcutsend and they came back and work perfect. Thanks for this info!
Nothing wrong with the Banzai Racing ones, everything they sell is proven and solid. I just wanted something a bit different.
I made mine out of 6061 T6 any countersunk the holes so the bolts would sit flush. Also, I chose to use stainless hardware. The plates were $42.30 shipped to my door and the bolts were $13.90 with tax. So $56.20 total (about the same price as Banzai).
As far as easy is concerned, sendcutsend.com is as easy as draging the file over into an upload box on thier website, picking a few material options (could have done these isn 304 SS for $6 more) and paying. Come to think about it typing this post is probably more work .
At any rate,I guess I had to do the countersinking myself which took about 5 minutes but that wouldn't have been necessary if I used some pan head bolts.
