Doesn't look like any part i've seen on a FD, maybe it got lodged up in your car while driving.

I was putting some taillights on my buddies BMW, the new ones had a little removable pre-install black piece that looked like that

Both may be correct. I was blowing out my engine bay with a blower though when I found it underneath the car. The flat side of the piece has the numbers 6, 5, 4, 9. Almost like they correspond to some "plug" fitting....

Looks like something that should be inside the car, not in the engine bay.

I agree, just throw it away or have fun going through the FSM.

I agree - that's not a Mazda part. It's something off another car that blew up into your engine bay.
