black fine sand like speckles all over bumper cover?
black fine sand like speckles all over bumper cover?
Happens if I drive say a week, most all part throttle... is my cat bad? car has stock exhaust, catless downpipe, chopped airbox... otherwise stock, gets ~11-12mpg city with no boost and 3k shifts, ~22-24mpg highway, runs/drives fine
Check for an oil leak - a decent leak can decorate your car. Been there, done that with my old TII that plagued me with oil issues (leaks, oil pressure, etc.)

it'll smoke BLACK (too rich) WOT sometimes 5000+, the speckles are on the *REAR* bumper cover and have for sure came from the exhaust, doesn't smoke in the morning, starts right up with good vacuum... if anything this is fuel (as my city mileage sucks horribly as well)
I think this is fairly common on FDs - mine gets little gobs of smutty carbon or oil deposits on the rear bumper too, but mine aren't gritty like sand. Maybe road grit is sticking to the deposits.
