Big Time Engine Prob
I have a problem, i just imported two 3rd gen rx7's. Brought them back last week not knowing too much about them. The same day i put the two head to head and one got blown away by the other. So i drove the fastest one around that night to check it out and it was running fine. Then out of nowhere it started to sputter then i lost almost all power could berly bring drive it off the road. Had to tow it home and it hasn't started since. I did a compression test on it but i had compression on the front plugs but not on the back ones. I dont know n e thing about these engines and would really apresiate some help.
Thanks alot in advance

^--MrNizzles, he lives in Canada, not the Socialst Republic of California. He doesn't need the supreme authority of the Governator, he just needs the car to be 15 years old.
check the MAP sensor. Same thing happened to my friend, his MAP sensor hose had come loose.
I've highlighted the MAP sensors location and the path of the hose vacuum hose that connects it to the UIM.
Whether it is or isn't the MAP sensor, I'd suggest you take both cars to a local reputible rotary shop to have them checked out. These cars are VERY tempermental and can cause a lot of unessecary headaches if not cared for properly.
In any event, start reading.

I hope you aren't planning on flipping multitudes of jdm cars without declaring yourself as a dealer (and paying the associated startup fees). you can go to jail for that you know.
send the cars back to japan

I honestly can't understand how people can import or buy a car without checking things like this. Every week without fail someone post something about just purchasing a new FD that has symptoms of a blown motor. WHY?

If you do a compression check and the rear has no compression, asking questions on here wont make the compression come back . Its blown, get a rebuild and fix it or sell for a loss. Add up the value of the rebuild and what the car would bring and compare it to what the car is worth with a blown engine. If you bought it to resell then figure out which is the better option.

16,000$? there's no way you paid more than 10,000$ for a car with an engine ready to blow in seconds. bleh shady canadian jdm importers FTL.
i'll buy the front bumper off of either one for 120$ + shipping. i'll buy the gauge hood as well for another $75 + shipping.
