BG 44k Fuel system cleaner

Hello again,

I've done a few searches on this topic but haven't gotten all of the information i'm looking for.

Mainly what i'm looking for is opinions, I work at honda and my service guys reccomended this product to me. Planning on using it on my car sometime next week. Seems fairly straight forward to use, one of the two cans goes directly into the fuel tank that is approx. 1/4 full.. and the other goes through your intake system somehow. How does the second can work exactly?

If anyone could post their opinions/experiences with this product i'd greatly appreciate it.

Also, i'm assuming this product is no different for rotary engines.. plaese correct me if my assumptions are wrong.

Thanks in advance for reading/replying!

It works similar to seafoam, the chemical is used to break up carbon deposits.
The can used in the fuel is intended to clean the fuel injectors. The "second" can is drawn into the intake plenum using one of the small vacuum tubes, this is used to break up the carbon from the rotors and in the rotor housing.

Cool, thanks for the reply.

Sounds pretty basic as far as it's function. Have you had any experience with it? Does this work as well or better as seafoam? I haven't actually read about seafoam, just this 44k product that my service guys recommended. Thanks again!

I have been using BG44K for about 6 years. It is designed for one can to be diluted in a full tank of gas. There is no instruction for any of it to be used directly in the intake system.

BG44K is very strong. Much stronger than other injector cleaners. Because of this, I recommend using it no more than once a year. I do not recommend using it directly into the intake.

Rotary Performance/rx7.com did a BK44k injector cleaner treatment on my car once where they connected the cleaner to feed the fuel rails and the car ran off of what was in the can until it died.

It's been at least 5 years since I spoke to the rotary mechanic about BG44K. My memory of the conversation has faded. I believe that he said that it was too strong to use undiluted. I am 100% sure that he said it was too strong to use more than once a year. As I recall, he said that is was very caustic on the non metal components.
