Beware FEDEX Amayama Scam

Does FEDEX actually ask for a “Form HS7”?? Shoot, I just ordered 5 hose clamps.

I had to supply this for a recent ~$200 order from Amayama. Also had to pay duty to FedEx as well.

How did you fill out the form? It doesn’t seem to fit “parts”. All the questions are about the vehicle. Also, you paid FEDEX the duty? So they are “the importer” ?

It’s motor vehicles and motor vehicle equipment (i.e., parts). Just provide a simple description of the items and your info as the form requests and you will be fine. You will check box 2A in the declaration as the parts do not have any FMVSS standards that apply. The top section will be filled in by FedEx.

You will be the importer, FedEx is the broker. They will pass any importation tariff fees to the government on your behalf

A few months ago, I order and received the newer FD TPS which cost about $400. I did not have to fill out any forms or pay any other fees.

If you pay attention to current news, Trump recently nullified the free of import tariffs act for items under about $800.

Thus now you have to pay. Sorry for but poor timing for you.

I think the threshold now is $200, but not sure. I have a ~$50 order coming from Amayama soon, I will find out one way or the other...

I had received the same message to fill out the form, I called FedEx directly to see what it was all about, and was informed the parts were already released from customs and didn't need it. It asked for your social security number which I wasn't going to give out.
