Depends which way you look at it. I've owned a Blitz in the past and the core is thicker than the Greddy. Also it doesn't block the entire front of the car meaning air can still get to the radiator. In the 2 years that I've had this setup with a stock radiator I've never had the car overheat once even in stop start traffic.
Looks very neat in the engine bay, only 2 pipes in total. Ummm it did drop the temperature like a rock. Build quality is very high, if not higher than the Greddy.
Negatives based on my experience was having to relocate battery and needing to buy intakes. Also when I purchased an aftermarket front bar.....the IC doesn't cover the entire opening of this bar (C-West) so it does make the appearance look funny with the large gaps on the sides.

I prefer the Blitz as well. The installation does not require the front bumper cover to be removed. There is very little cutting just the sway bar mounts for installation of the radiator brackets, so if for any reason you want to switch back to stock the parts are only $35 to replace.
The piping is far shorter than any other kit that I have seen, so the Blitz works great with the stock twins as well. When installing a Greddy there are several feet of additional piping that enter and exit from the bottom of the IC.

Another vote for the Blitz, which I run on my FD.
The Greddy is a pain in the *** to install, plus it butts right up against the front bumper, acting as a battering ram for all the incoming air. The Blitz is the opposite, easy install and allows air to get into the engine bay.

Since I have installed a million of both of them and sold them for 9 years I would say go with the Greddy and save your self a lot of money. Nothing wrong with the Blitz FMIC other than the rediculous price.
I have never had a car overheat from using the Greddy. The install is a bit more complicated but not that bad.
You cant go wrong with either of them, but with the huge price difference the Greddy is the one I recommend.

I have personally seen coolant temps on an average of 10C hotter using the Greddy 3-row in side by side comparisons to the Blitz.

A million of both? Wow. I have only installed a few dozen of each. Huge price difference? Oddly enough the price on your website for the comparable Greddy 3 row is more expensive than the Blitz on your site. I can certainly see why you would recommend it.

You are going to see coolant temps that are a little higher with a front mount but its still not hot or going to cause it to overheat unless there is another issue with the car.
You can always spend a few extra bucks on this which is a new koyo and intercooler if your worried about temps.

did you have to buy a certain piping to mate w/ the greddy elbow? if so where can i get it? or did u have to custom pipe made to get there?
seems like the "majority" would rather spend a bit more for the blitz than save a few for the greddy.
do you have pix of the blitz fmic on your car (front view rather than engine bay) that i can see.

Kudos to the guys that have posted the supercoolsetups above....I have the Greddy Mspaec on the way and was wondering if there is any otheralterntive to replacing the pre 99 spec Y pipe and crossover tube other than going with the 99spec Y pipe upgrade??
Like is there an aluminimium alternative to the black plastic crossover tube on pre 99 spec models??

if you're only comparing the two. Blitz is definitly better all the way. The cause of most FMIC overheating is due to air flow escapes after going through the IC, and not much gets to the radiator. unless the big gap in between is fully ducted all around.
Blitz IC sits back to back with the radiator, that's how factory would design it if it came with the car, like AC condensors. not to mention no need to cut the rebar and bumper.
Ofcourse if you have the funds for it, go with a vmount.

I've had both and I agree with everything that's been said up to this point. I'm still partial to the Greddy though as it allows a LOT more free space in the engine bay. That's the only real downside to the Blitz or Apex'i FMIC's. Both take up a lot of room in the engine bay forcing you to deal with issues of battery fitment, radiator fitment, etc.

I used to have some nice pics of it in the mouth of the bumper in my single turbo thread but now they're red x's. I'll take some tomorrow when I take the car out to rip on it

That's actually not a bad deal at all. These I believe are discontinued or limited production now, so they're exceedingly difficult to get ahold of.

The Blitz one is worth the price. I had the Greddy one and half way through the installation I wish I would of just spend a few more bones on the Blitz. The Greddy one worked great as far as charged air temps, however I did notice a few spikes in water temp because of it. Both are good quality and craftsmanship, but overall I think the Blitz is the real deal.
Heres the greddy..
