for 1k mi, don't boost if you can help it, don't go above 4k rpm, vary your rpm's don't sit @ 2k rpm for the whole 1k mi...

if you don't want to drive , you could warm up the car everyday for 10 mins.... it takes about a month...

I've never heard of that. I am under the impression that breaking in the engine is kind of a progressive thing and that the load should increase gradually, not stay at idle. The main thing is that the rotors have to create groves in the housings and side housings so you can't over rev it because the housing will not grove and be almost totally smooth. By hitting different loads, not necessarily rpms you get different stresses on the engine and reach the whole range of motion, save for redline. Another thing is to heat cycle the metal so a long drive that gets one thousand miles in one swoop is not ideal. The metal needs to heat up and cool down. I think around 13 is needed but more is optimal. I'd aim for around 700 miles before beginning a progressive boost hike. Now this is layman’s knowledge, engineers please advise us, so don't take my word for it but it is a start.

Imagine all the morons that ragged the **** out of the 3rd gens when they hit the dealerships with little to no miles. Well I would have but that doesn't count. The "break-in" is important but not enough to loose any hair over. Just don’t do any donuts or drag racing.
