Cool Best radiator to go with M2 SMIC?

Anyone running an after market radiator together with the large M2 SMIC? I have the large SMIC but haven't decided on the replacement for my stock radiator. Any suggestions to avoid major fitment problems.

Fluidyne is the best fit afaik. Take the stocker out, slap the Fluidyne in...

Wrong. Do you even have an M2/ASP IC and Koyo/Fluidyne?
There is not much space to squeeze the IC duct in. I have a Fluidyne and my M2/ASP duct fits very tightly. I can just imagine what would happen with a Koyo.

You should really search on this topic as it has been covered in depth and the threads included pics of how to fix issues when using the Koyo and Fluidyne.

Short version, less issues to use the M2 with the Fluidyne.

i dont know wat you were looking at but i see nothing about a duct?? all that i took in from his post was that he was worried about smic and rad fitment.

and yes i have a koyo, with large fans and relays switches. fits fine with space to spare....

This is the duct that comes with the ASP/M2 IC. The duct has to fit between the radiator and front bumper. As I said above, with my Fluidyne(which is smaller than the Koyo) the duct was a *very* tight fit. Of course every car/setup is different.

it's a known fact that Koyos and SMIC's are an extremely tight fit.

I *had* a PFS SMIC and I made sure I got a fluidyne. Even then it I had to re-arrange some stuff.

i didnt think the duct was included, that why i didnt think it mattered. but i guess you would know more about his situation since you have the smic and duct.

The only IC's which ducts aren't included are:

1. FMIC's where no ducts are required.
2. Cheap eBay SMIC's.

Yep. And it is very important to have a duct if you actually want a SMIC to actually cool the air with any amount of efficiency.

thats just common sense. you could be sucking in the same hot air thats dispursed from the intercooler. also you'd be picking up all the rad heat

I would have just rub some of the tingling action stuff. It helps wiggle it into place...

I have a friend with the M2 large (uses same duct) and he has the Ron Davis (Mazdacomp) and that is the setup I would go with if I were to do it again.

And I know someone selling a used one y coincidence

Smile Radiator to go with M2 large SMIC

Thanks for all the posts and recommendations.

I did some more reading of the previous threads and those were equally helpful. Funny thing is that I did do searches here on the Koyo and SMIC before, but did not get many hits. So thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

The consensus seems to be that the Fluidyne is an easer fit, but the Koyo offers better cooling and with bit of work can still be shoe-horned in. The "wild horse" seems to be the Mazdacomp (Rod Davis) product. Not much written about this radiator.

Many of you wrote about the duct (diffuser) that comes with the SMIC, which I neglected to mention. Thanks for catching that. The other thing I neglected to mention is the M2 cold air intake. But even with that, the posts seem to say that whichever radiator I decide on, it will not be a drop in, but it can be made to work.

Oh, one more thing. Sorry, but since I'm a newbie, I can only e-mail and PM the admins. Guess I got to get busy and post everywhere on this list.
