Best Method to Test Boost?
My setup - stock twins, with a Greddy Profec B.
I have been told, that flat footing it in fourth gear should give me and accurate boost reading. My gauge reads about 11psi, no matter what i do with the profec b, so something isn't quite right with that.
I ran up the interstate and did a few fourth gear pulls, and nothing saw nothing more than 11psi. Turned around and got on it on an entrance ramp saw about 14psi or so in third gear and felt like might have gotten a little bit of a surge. I haven't seen it boost that high ever.
Is could one of the control valves be sticking? Is there a better way to test boost patterns?
Thank You

the profec b is the old style with the three ***** i believe. I didn't buy it or install it. It only says greddy profec b on it and I am sure it is at least 3 years old or older
thank you

what i'm getting at here is this. I bought the car in April. it has always had boost issues since I purchased it. The metal line that the hoses from the boost controller hook up to on the primary turbo housing will not stay connected as well. I don't believe the profec would work correctly if that line stayed connected anyway. Do I remove the turbos, and the UIM and replace solenoids, hoses and go single and have something reliable or should I keep trouble shooting. The boost controller could be bad and I can't get that metal line to stay conncected to the turbo to accurately use the controller anyway, so the twins may have to come out anyway.

If your boost controller is only hooked up receiving boost from the primary turbo it is not hooked up correctly. It should be taking a boost reading from the UIM (easiest place).
Personally I test my boost using 3rd gear pulls as when redlining 3rd you are looking at 100+mph...
So with your mod list you are saying you DO have a cat? If so, great, that helps rule out boost creep.
Before throwing in the towel and just trying to go single, one thing I always recommend a person do after purchasing an FD (especially when it is not acting normally) is get out the FSM and make sure the vac lines are all correct. You never know what the previous owner did when attempting to fix an issue. And going single is a big financial commitment $10k+ depending on how you go about it.

I assume you mean that my boost gauge should be hooked up to the UIM, which it is. The boost contoller motor is hooked up to the wastegate actuator and to the hard line that attaches to the primary turbo housing. I believe it is all hooked up correctly. At any rate that small metal fitting has come unattached from the turbo housing which is part of the problem. I can't get it to stay, tried super glue and jb weld, but the boost pressure keeps pushing it out. The primary turbo housing needs to come out so that can be fixed correctly.
I do not have a cat in place, so I might have experienced some boost creep
