best kind of clutch to get?
i wanna know what is the best material, for racing and some-what street use. is cerramic good?
i want a clutch that grabs good but still lasts. meaning what is the best for long time use but still a race clutch.

What kind of power are we talking about here? I really like my ACT Xtreme Street Clutch. Can hold 451 ft-lbs torque and if you ever wanted to upgrade you can just slap a 6 puck disk on and be able to hold 577 ft-lbs of torque. Feels real good for street with the street disc.
i dont know much about clutches, and what they are made of so im just trying to figure out which is best to get for reliablty reasons.
is the brand exedy good?

6 Puck!
I have been using the same clutch for some years now. Every FD I have had has experimented a bit with different cluches. The final out come is my loyalty goes to the Racing Beat 6Puck street/race clutch (sprung). This has been the best balaced clutch. Not too hard to get used to on the streets and not too soft for the track. I have also used this clutch on a very wide range of HP setups with great results. Great for Road course and sprung for streets. Currently I am using it with an 8 LB flywheel and its amizingly tame.

6 puck
I have also been using the Racing Beat 6 puck (sprung)
clutch with their pressure plate. But I kept the stock flywheel. This clutch feels great and not bad for daily driving. The clutch pedal feels soft but it hooks very nicely thanks to (Norman and Kam) at SIDEPEX for the installation.
If you have the extra cash do it.

Get the ACT street/strip, it will hold just about anything and the pedal is barely stiffer then stock. I wouldn't reccomend buying a used clutch.

A 6 puck is hard to get used to and you can fry it easily in traffic. I don't reccomend it for daily driven cars.

Be very aware that the Racing Beat 6Puck Sprung street/race clutch is awesome, but one thing that is far more note worthy is the quality of the Mazda factory OEM FD pressure plate. I very much recommend using the 6puck with the stock pressure plate for any setup up to 350-400rwhp. The only time you would need a stronger pressure plate is if you did constant drag launches(many-many). In any other situation, street or road race, you would have ample holding power. What makes this a good choice is that you would not have that nasty heavy clutch that some people think is a sign of a good unit. Quite to the contrary as you would lose a significant amount of feel on the pedal and the ability to manipulate slip.
The stock pressure plate is a great unit. I would recommend replacing the pilot and throw out (release) bearing along with the racing beat 6 puck and a new Mazda OEM flywheel. And if money permits, the lightest damn flywheel you can find (unless drag racing, where a 12lb+ flywheel will allow for smooter more perdictable launches).
Hope this helps.

). It's not much different than stock except it's a lot stronger. Pedal effort is moderately increased.
for you guys running the racing beat 6-puck. are you running their mazdaspeed pressure plate or the stock. I know remydrm mentioned he prefers the OEM, but what are you other guys running.
thats awsome i didnt know i could use the stock pressure plate. can i bolt up any lightweight flywheel as well? lets say for example the exedy?
my next choice was the act because i heard so much about it.

When it's hot, it's even more sensitive. If I didn't have to muddle thru traffic, I wouldn't mind but it is not a street type clutch.
May be I'll try the RB 6 puck next or go back to a Centerforce.
