I think you'll get heat soak on a SMIC regardless of what bonnet you get.

For cooling an SMIC, you'll obviously want a hood that has a vent just above the SMIC which the scoot hood does not have. There are several that would work sufficiently. I'll try to find pictures of them to help you decide what's most astetically pleasing to you.

Mazdaspeed Hood

There are others, but fd3s.net appears to be down so I'm having trouble finding them.

YOUWISH, you are correct, no matter what hood he uses he will experience heat soak, however there are some hoods which are clearly better for increasing air flow and reducing heat soak than others.

Knightsports

AD-9 / N1 / or Seibon copy (the one I have)

and a puller fan behind the intercooler may help although there's a big debate about this.

I have the scoot and it worked wonderfully while i had a SMIC. The 6 rearward vents sat right above the intercooler pulling air from the front of the car through the intercooler and then out the hood. And I personally don't think it looks bad at all on the right FD

Maybe if there wasn't that ugly hole in the front. I agree though, it looks like it would be efficient at flowing air for a SMIC.

I'd go with this one. It's what I plan on getting as soon as I comfortably have the spare cash. I'm currently running the GReddy SMIC and will be going with a V-Mount this fall...

I'll be sure to have it fit tested before I buy it ^_^ I know the owner of that site, he has an FD. If nothing else I'll get him to check it against his car before shipping.

And even so... show me an original MS hood floating around I could buy, lol..

I wish there was a hood like the mazdaspeed with a vent over the turbo area, or a knightsport without the vent on the drivers side (whats that for anyway?), I think that would be the most efficient.
