Click the link in my sig to see my Catz low beam HIDs. They have been pretty reliable, lasted over 2 years now, I love them. You will have a hard time finding them b/c Catz no longer sells them/went out of business.

none of the above (sorry rich ). The best HID setup would be to retro fit a set of BMW E46 or Mercedes E55 projectors into the stock headlight assembly. It's both the correct, and best way to put HID into a non HID car. You will get the best cutoff with this setup, and most importantly, you will not blind oncoming traffic.
I see a lot of ricers on the streets who just installed a HID bulb into a stock headlight, it looks like crap and blinds the crap out of other cars.

Have you succesfully retrofitted a projector in the stock headlight? I have a pair of E55 projectors lying arround....let me know how made out.

It'd pretty difficult to fit something that big into the housing and make it look good at the same time. You can always do sleeks--I just ordered the Evo-R sleek lights and it uses projectors (fog light projectors I believe) They look great and from what I've read in the GB forum, they seem to work well too.

personally i say go sleeklight using hella hid capsules, far superior lighting, specifically designed for HID so you wont have to worry about retrofitting. Otherwise i personally recommend mcculloch. Ive had nothing but bad experience with cheaper brands especially when it comes to warranty. Just pay more and go with mcculloch if your gonna go that route, otherwise sleekight w/ hella capsules.

I went through 6 (SIX) ballasts from McCulloch before I gave it up and put in a set of Silverstars. Six 85 dollar ballasts. Plus shipping. Some people have good luck, and other people, like me have bad(read: terrible) luck with McCulloch. I tell everyone who will listen to steer clear of them. In my experience, the customer service is non-existant, and the ballasts just plain suck.
If I were to do it all over again, I'd get a set from either Hella or Catz. From the reading I've done, they both seem to have a great reputation for long life. Goodfella is right, though. Catz no longer makes HIDs for the US.

Dan, you're absolutely right. I can't remember if you met my friend w/ the C70, but he was adamant about getting it done perfectly and right (w/ projectors etc), and he ended up sending his headlights (the entire housings etc) to a guy who custom retrofitted projectors in them. They look *amazing* and are perfect.

On the other hand, I remember I was harrassing Chuck (of RotaryExtreme) for months to finish up his version of the Knightsports headlights, and the main reason he quit on 'em was b/c there simply wasn't enough room to fit projectors, and he wasn't gonna half-*** it. He was gonna either do it right (w/ projectors) or not do it at all.

I have not had time to do the retro, but I can tell you it has been done before. It doesn't take a great deal of skill, just a decent amount of time. Another advantage of doing a retro fit is the fact that you can have a bi-xenon projector which will give you HID high beams.

Personally I think every sleek light kit kills the look of the 7, except for the kit FDnewbie has....they look pretty sick actually. But IMO nothing beats the stock popups. I like the fact that during the day the headlights don't take away from the car and at night it doesn't really matter. Also pretty much every sleeklight kit with HID does not use the proper projector/bulb combos. The hella projector and bulbs well designed I'm sure.

Thanks for the compliment Dan. I take that to heart Now lets just leave that kit unnamed. Not trying to draw attention to it Only prob is it's HID, but I'm pretty sure they're basically HID fogs, not projectors. Dunno if something like that could be retrofitted in...

The Catz kit has high/low beam operation and I never heard one complaint from another driver. It did however make a night and day difference (literally) with my E-spec glass housings.

Oh yeah just about ANY lights will be better then stock. I've never seen the catz kit in person so I can't really comment on it.

I hear that. I currently run dual flashlights up front, and they're a *considerable* improvement over the stock lighting...

I got these http://www.svtperformance.com/forums...=1#post3925686

They are true dual beam so you don't lose the high beam function. My car takes a 9007 bulb but they also make one for an h4.
