Best facebook groups for FDs?

Wondering if anyone can reccomend a FD Facebook group (or registry) ?

Not interested in any groups about modifying etc just appreciating these cars in original form

Honestly, the Facebook groups are all kind of trash. It's the nature of going away from forums to short form communication and shorter attention span. People are in and out for 5 seconds of attention or comments. There isn't anything super valuable that's there.

I was hoping there is some small group on there for people interested in preserving these cars in factory state etc. I recently was first in line to buy a R1 with under 3k miles and passed on it. Still kicking myself

Personally I don’t understand the interest in a registry but you can go to the search link at the top of this section. Go to advance search and type. “Registry” in titles only. You’ll find multiple threads.

I'm not a fan of 'registries' either, but I guess these cars are making their way into car collectors' hands a lot more now. Pretty soon, we'll see our cars at Pebble Beach, with original factory date stickers on the OEM shocks. I think it's funny that you can't numbers-match these cars with engines and transmissions, it must drive car collectors nuts.

The non number matching thing should make it cooler. We have a modular engine. From a maintenance standpoint, if you did serial the individual parts and then had to replace an iron or housing, you would have to go through some kind of certification process. The system would be even worse in that reality lol

The RX7 group is pretty popular but GTIKyle summed all of them up pretty accurately.
Lots of noise, not enough signal. It's a fun few minutes to pop in there and check things out but it gets tiresome.
If you like questions about which oil to use, how much to premix or other topics that were beaten to death 25 years ago, or receiving responses from people who are clueless about the car, facebook groups are great. The forums are not as active because the people here have no need to rehash that old stuff so you get deeper, more complex topics being discussed here.

The one thing I do enjoy about the groups is that many of the new products for our cars often get introduced there first. Facebook and IG are a great marketing platform.

I'd say there are more of those people here. The thread on FD values is an interesting read.
