I have a couple pics...not a very good ones though. The valve on this thing is huge. It's like 50+mm.

I don't think the Tial is really any better in terms of functionality...but it certainly isn't any worse, and costs like half as much and looks better, IMO.

how about the sound?

The only reason why I went with an aftermarket BOV was the sound of the HKS SS. I first heard it at the american le mans with all those 911TT cresting the corkscrew at laguna seca and it was awesome.......

people had WTF looks on their faces........ trying to figure it out...

I dunno...I guess I don't think a BOV should be purchased solely for the sound it makes. The purpose of a BOV isn't to sound cool, it's to release pressure. The Tial sound's similar to stock, just louder. Doesn't have the high pitched pffffttt sound.

Any good links as to where to find the Tial along with prices and maybe even a sound clip?? I know that if you go to www.alltrac.net they have sounds of several different BOV's. I love the design of the HKS, that's why I am going for it. Unless I can learn more about the Tial's design. I know that they make the best wastegates, but don't know shyte about their BOV's. Laterz.

Agreed........ the main purpose is to release pressure......... but why not have some fun and enjoyment at it?

Besides...... it's a great way to get a race going........ or to intimidate the other driver with WTF looks on their faces........

I got mine here, for $10 less than it is listed for which includes flange and v-band clamp.

http://www.suprastore.com/tialblowoffv.html

You'll probably need to get the softer spring for it as it takes quite a bit of vacuum to open it up.

It is a simple, well executed design, using quaility materials. It is even shipped in a foam block with separate compartments for each of the components. The function of the BOV is to dump the boost as fast as possible. This thing does that, it's huge, and it doesn't stick pieces of metal in the way of the air leaving to make cool noises.

Once you hold one, you'll know you made the correct decision.

I agree. If someone wants a new BOV, why does it bother anyone else?

I used the purchase of the BOV to get my hands dirty with the car. It was the first mod I did to the car, which was followed by the AST and so on.. I wanted to get started with something easy and you can't get much easier than installing a BOV (ok, maybe a shift **** but that's not under the hood).
