Just to save everyone some time....
the stock BOV is fine for the stock turbos...if you want it louder you can vent it (take off the 1 inch hose from the BOV to the airbox)
There is no best blow off valve unless you are running something like 30 psi off a large single set up. The only reason for getting one is the sound, and people will tell you to get the HKS SSQV.
Also I know there are a ton of posts about this...try looking some of them up with the search buttons I know you'll find what you're lookin for

Doritos on a toothpick
just remember that a bov's main function is pressure relief...they were designed to reduce compressor surge...the only reason you should consider upgrading the stock unit is if you are experiencing surge(shuddering sound)...or if you just want a different sound.....

I have the HKS SS BOV and love it....... you can adjust the sound and there are 2 other diaphragms that you can buy that will change the sound......
HKS states that their BOV is a push instead of a pull type.... Can someone elaborate that since I have my own opinions.......

I'll be running the HKS SSQV as well. I have a couple of friends running them on different cars at anywhere from 14psi up to 28psi and they work like a dream. But I also agree that if you still have the stock twins then there is no need to spend the money unless you want it to sound different. Just my .02

The FD is not a DSM.. Vented into the airbox or to atmosphere has nothing to do with the idle. It only has to do with the loudness of the BOV. It's just vented into the airbox to keep the noise down.

I bought the Apexi BOV and it sounds just like the stock vented - I wan't sure if the stock would be able to handle high boost on upgraded twins so I bought aftermarket - it was inexpensive and works fine.

I'd either go stock or Tial.
You REALLY dont need to upgrade, vent them first, they sounds great.
I'm running non seq with upgraded turbos and high boost and just using the 2 stock BOV's. Its pleanty of BOV and they dont leak a drop. I checked them on the dyno just to make sure they were not leaking. I was running large upgraded stock twins at 17psi.
They are fine just use them and vent they for some extra sound, I think they sound great!!!

Also, with its design you can remove the small tube that connects the BOV to the air box and cap the air box for the same effect without causing any of those symptoms.
