turbos, replacing aging and used parts (its a 10 year old car!), and spending money trouble shooting all the little quirks

oh yeah and gas!!!

Bushings, brakes, tires, fluids, trannys, differentials (the last two only if you're making a lot more than stock HP), etc. It's 10 years old. Things need replacing. Hell mine is almost 12 years old now.
