Belt Problems

I recently installed brand new belts on the car, the old ones were all cracked. So i went and bought OEM belts, and installed them, then a few weeks later i could hear the belts squeaking from inside and outside the car. I tightened the belts as far as i could, but its still making the noise. My FD is only one that "squeaks".

Take the belt of an flip it around, so that what's facing the front of the car is now facing the rear. Damn.. That's hard to describe..
I have to do this about once a month to keep the belts from squeaking.

And do NOT overthighten your belts!
I tried that at first to, ended up with a leaking waterpump.

if you dont have belt dressing, use a bar of soap cheap easy fix

and dont tighten up the belts so much

for soap use, start the car and at idle touch the belt with the soap ( on the sides )

How do you know how tight the belts need to be? I'm worried about overtightening because these are the first belts I've done in a long time.

Also, if I did overtighten, I've only put on about 10 miles, should I be cool?

You can check using the belt defletcion method. Just push on the belt half way between pulleys and measure how much it moves.

Or you can goto NAPA and find the tool that measures the belt tension.

Specs for what the tension or deflection should be are in he FSM I think
