I wonder if they would accept a 3mm and street-ported core???
I guess the whole thing was set up for Mazda to get cores for producing remans.
How could they use a ported and 3mm core?

LOL all this excitement over a new engine that it will blow just the same with a bad tune as any rebuilt engine for less money. Now if Mazda struck a deal with NRS and installed some of their ceramic apex seals, that would be a different story. Oh well since that will never happen, what Mazda really needs to do is lower the cost of the damn rotor housings instead.

Get one of these, install reliability mods including Alcohol Injection and it should outlast any rebuilt motor.
But you're right, a MAZDA BUILT motor with NRS seals and Cermet Housings would be the bees knees.

Why not just send your current housings to JHB for cermet restoration then buy some rotors and NRS seals?? You'd spend less than $3500 on that, plus you'd be ballin with ceramics.

Well the coatings out right now suck(heard this from other members). The price of new housings is around $1000 and for new everything is alot more than $3500 so having a engine that is new tearing it apart and porting is better than taking my engine that has a blown rear rotor(around 13000 on some parts) and getting two new housings, a rotor, balancing, and port to match my old one and all new seals. It is going to cost close to the same price if i go either way(only like a $500 difference) and this way i am starting with all fresh internals and on my way for power. I am going single turbo in the spring so a large street port or half bridge is what i am looking for to help spool and more air flow and they should only have to repace soft seals.

Really? I haven't seen that yet. I guess I'll do a search for bad experiences with JHB cermet coated housings. They can re-work old housings and coat them with cermet for $1000 a pair.

Yes i will be taking it to Ray at PF Supercars since he is like an hour away from me and my car is going up there November 8th. Already talked to him and it is just better to start with all new parts because tolerances will be alot better and my other engine was ported by someone else and he rather do his own port than try to match someone elses. Wouldnt you want to start with a new engine rather than a used one(that needs extra parts and has miles on it) for your car?
