Yup. That and a hose clamp. Works like a charm, and no mess @ the track. I don't have idle problems, but I have a Power FC...

Vented = total mess if you track the car, perhaps a mess anyway
Plugged = easy, may cause stalling in cold climates
Re-plumbed = prevents stalling in cold climates

There you have it! The idle is still high on start-up even with the thing plugged. Except it is only 2000-2500 rather than 3000.

I recommend plugging it and seeing if you gat stalling. If not, leave it as-is. If it does stall, replumb it.

some people even argue that you lose boost if not replumbed or blocked off. I had mine with a simple filter at the end. Dave at KD blocked it off when he saw it though.

Anyone know if the blocking off the accelerated warm-up system line increases engine temps?

My motor is running 1 degree Celsius higher than before with the AWS line plugged with a 5/8-inch HELP cap. matty, I monitor my water temps with a Power FC Commander like you do. It might be coincidental...the ambient temps have risen here in Indy recently...?

I dunno if you want to order the block off plates from the Rx-7 store, they tent to forget to ship stuff. Like my block-off plates. They were supposed to be here on wed. But they forgot to ship them so now I will have to vent to AWS untill the next time I decide to take off the UIM.

are u serious? I monitor my temps constantly (almost to the point of staring at them) and i could never tell if it was one degree higher on avg.
Don't your temps stay within a range rather then sitting at a specific degree. My car is always 85-87C. Kd changed my fans to 86. i have stock rad.

Mine rises to 87, and drops to 86, and then sits @ 86. Used to sit @ 85. I have Koyo and KDR modified my fans to kick on low @ 86 and high @ 87 using an FC datalogit and Power FC...

ok...i understand.

That raises another issue/question....i think dave did the same with mine....86=low and 87= high. That means that we are driving around with our fans on90% of the time..u think that hurts performance...the reason why i ask is that i am going to the strip on sunday.

Wow, those are some LOW fan settings. I would guess that your fans are almost always on in town driving. It seems a little excessive. I would think regularly keeping the temps under 205-210 F (98-100 C) would be fine.

No, we are driving around town with our fans on 99% of the time LOL Don't think it will hurt performance. It will wear out our rad fans more quickly LOL

initially he had them at 89 or 90 C...I really liked it there as fans wouldnt run continously.
