You have 2 options:

Take the key out of the ignition.

Close the door.

Don't know about us versions, but in jdm you can just disconnect the wire going to the ignition lock to disable the beep-beep.

you can disable the thing that makes your car bip...if you look there is a plastic stick going out of your body where the door closes; there is a screw that fixes it to the body; remove the screw, take out the piece and you will see that there is a small copper thing fixed to the rear of the plastic stick...just disconnect it, wrap it with some tape and that beep is gone for good.

not sure it's like that in all the models, my 93 r1 works like that

if you need ill post you some pics of it

ciao!

Previous said there is a wire you can cut that runs through the column, for some reason my green wire was cut when I purchased the car and I left my keys in the cars several times now.....

If you disable the door pin switch, you'll also disable the courtesy lights when the door opens and part of the security system.

You can pull the key out about halfway. I just pull the key all the way out if I'm working on the car.

Turn the key to the "on" position. The beeping will stop after several seconds.

Someone gets it.

Many cars will not let you do this....

Open up your steering column you should be able to find a connector in there with only two wires one blue with a red stripe and one that is solid white. disconnect it. no more beep. you can also pull the 10A room fuse but then CPUs one and two will stop working (bad juju) cause thats their power; the engine will still run but other things will not. The beep is annoying, but then again, you are more likely to lock your keys in the car. My recommendation is to just learn to ignore the damn thing.

Hey guys, i was installing a stereo head unit in my car and when i grounded the harness there was a spark. shortly after i noticed the car would beep whenever i open my door, even without the key in the ignition, it still beeps. i also noticed the security light on the center console doesnt flash anymore. any ideas on what i could do to fix this problem?

Pull key out halfway, stops the beeping.
Turn ignition on and it will stop (listen to the stereo while you work)

The beeping will save you from leaving your keys unattended in the car and walking away. Thats what it is intended to do.

The source of the beep is one wire from the ignition lock, that runs back under the dash into CPU #2. You can cut it, but then:

A. the car will not remind you that you've left the keys in the ignition (potential security problem- theives can just walk up, start it up with your keys and off they go)
B. car will not remind you that you have your lights/park lights left on, when you leave the car. (battery will then drain, and you come back to a dead car)

Learn to love it. Record the beeping, and play it on a tape recorder by your bedside at night while asleep. Subconsciously you will begin to love the sound.
