Question beep beep beep beep Its driving me crazy!

Just today I parked my car waited about 45 seconds after a cool down run on an easy drive around town. My girl friend opens her door befor I shut the car down. So I closed her door. Then once all doors were closed I shut the car down.

Then it happened!!!! I removed the key just as I had done before (Step 2 in arming the alarm. Step 1 is to make sure all doors are closed). Opened my door and then the beeping started....

Now to simulate this on all other cars even if you have a honda. Turn your car off and turn on your lights with your door open... Thats the beeping I hear....

I don't have my lights on. I don't have a key in the ignition and it still beeps... constatly!!

I searched on the forums and haven't seen anything on this. Anyone have any ideas or am I going to just have to remove the buzzer?

Thanks in advance.

Does it still beep when you get out and then close the door?

I know many A/T cars won't let you pull the key out unless it's in park, maybe (if yours is an auto.) beeps but lets you take the key out?

Check the fogs, make sure they're off too? Just throwing out ideas here, not really sure if any are correct.

Might just be a bad ignition switch?

Went home and my Dad took my keys, walked to my car stuck the key in the ignition and jiggled it around. Took the key out and it stopped.

So yeah... remember to try that one too. :P

Ive run into this on second gens . haven't seen it yet with my FD. Her's what it was,, like your dad did, the key lock arms the alarm. If the slot dips(falls , leans turns) out of it's position, the alarm goes off. The key slot is normally at the 12 o-clock position, mine falls to the 10-11 o-clock when it goes off. Had a couple other ones do the exact same thing.Just a pain in the *** I guess!!
