Batteries and Heat

I will be miniaturizing soon. I have a Hawker Genesis that I will be installing. It comes with a metal shroud.

I was thinking it would help the battery if I wrapped it with some insulating tape. Someone said don't wrap the entire battery, or it won't be able to get rid of heat it creates.

OK, so how about wrapping the back and engine sides, leaving the front and fender side free?

Then that makes me wonder if I should remove the metal shroud?

Opinions???

You shouldn't need to insulate it and I wouldn't remove the metal shroud. Why are you going with a Genesis vs the Odyssey?

Stick the battery back in the bins, you won't have to worry about any of the above. Plus it will add room, makes everything that much easier in there.

No. It is sealed lead acid, it would need to be vented. I am not doing that.

I insulated the bottom & sides of my battery and it is noticeably cooler to the touch.
