Bat relocation+aftermarket stereo=Q(already searched) +bonus material

Tomorrow I'm going to/try to relocate my battery to the passanger side bin. I have a couple quick questions:

1. Are there any eletrical wires in the driver side rocker panel?

2. Can I run my aftermarket amp directly from the post on the battery or should I go back up to the front? I'm not sure where it connects because it was professionally installed. I imagine the power going to the amp may be regulated in some way, but I don't know enough about this stuff to draw a conclusion.

This is a synapsis of the pros and cons I found in the various posts comparing the two most common wire routes. If anybody has anything to add go to town. It will be a nice guide for those that are searching in the future.

1. Under the chassis with the fuel lines
+more direct route
+less chance for interference
+less clutter inside the car
-near the fuel lines (this could make a bad accident worse)
-exposed to the elements
-more difficult to wire.

2. Around the driver side rocker panel, through the firewall.
+easier to wire
+away from the fuel lines
-greater chance for electrical interference (although nobody said from what).
-less direct route

Just wire your amp direct to the battery. That is always preferred and with your amp in the passenger bin it will be a cinch.

I don't like putting wiring outside the cabin when I can help it. My battery is in the stock location and my amp sits just behind the trunk divider. Its power wire runs behind the driver's b-pillar trim to the door sill, under the carpet and dead pedal, up behind the fuse box and out the big rubber grommet behind the drivers' front fender liner. Then up the inside of the fender and out into the engine bay where the cruise control sits. I also run the hose to my boost gauge and the wire to my water temp sender through here. Very convenient.

Great thanks guys.

Tom that's a terrific site. I've had it as my "home" page for the last week in preparation for the project
