Base mapping in my fd?
Base mapping in my fd?
so i have been reading about different versions of the pfc, i've been told there are different versions, different plugs etc depending on my model/year, now i've contacted a couple of suppliers that tell me they are all the same now? i know it will come with a base map, but it will be tuned for my car so different base map won't really matter, can somebody with experience help answer my questions, i know i should post in pfc section, but alot more members view these posts, thanks for any help

You should look at the FAQ in the PFC section.
For quite a few years PFCs have come with the so called 'base mod map', which will work for all the basic bolt-ins (except mid pipe) up to 12.5 psi or so. The car will run safely with this map but is not tuned in the sense that it may run quite rich and timing will not be optimal.

i guess i should have worded my question better, i'm not worried about whether the base map will work or not, i want to know why some members tell me to look at my stk plug & make sure i have the proper pfc for my year, i contact a couple of suppliers & they tell me they are all the same as long as it's an fd. so i want to know if they are all the same now, why is everybody giving me pn#'s and telling me i need a specific one for my model? my last post in pfc section a member was giving me different part numbers, i'm just confused, thanks
holy crap really. he dosent care about the base map!!!!
as far as different PFC's they are correct the 93-95 pfc is different than the 96+ pfc's and i cant remember if the 99+ is different or not either. i believe they use a different harness plug. as well as certain commander models will only work with a certain PFC model number usually the early models. but there is a thread with all this info in the PFC section if i remember right.
