Barthurst typr R "Vacuum Box"
Dose anyone know about the new vac box insted of the rat trap, I think this engine is out of a bathurst Type R it has the box, and all sort of differant stuff.
If anyone can help? the harness would not fit the old computer used upgrade ecu and used a 97 harness. I'm having fuel problems around 6K 3rd gear running out of fuel. Walbro fuel pump ,new fuel filter.
Thanks matt

The series-8 (99-02) was the only version to get that box I think. Would take quite a lot to get your USA spec series-6 (92-95) converted over. very little gain for effort required I think.
Although the series-6 (92-95), the series-7 (96-98) & series-8 (99-02) look very similar on the outside, mazda made quite a lot of wiring changes for each version.
Getting a series-6 updated to series-8 specs is a major piece of work that requires plenty of patience & plenty of money for the labour involved.

Thanks for the good Info!
Its up and running all ok, just running out of fuel or maybe spark. I used a series 7 harness and a series 8 coil harness because of the relocated lead coil.
Has anyone heard of anyone doing this update?
Thanks matt
