bad turbo precontrol = rough idle, wtf?!?!?

Ok, i know i'm probably not going to get a lot of response from this today (happy 4th of july everybody!!), but i figured i'd post while its fresh in my mind. here's what happened:
the other day i was sittin in my driveway ready to roll out, but waiting on a friend. my car is doing the normal 750-1000rpm idle fluctuation ( i should probably replace some selenoids) and then just stalls. it won't start back up unless i give it some gas and then it'll stall unless i stay on the pedal. i'm like, ok, easy, i ust flooded my engine, but there's a repeating clicking noise under the UIM, but i figure it's ust because i flooded my engine. so i take the plugs out, clean them (i would have replaced them but all the rotary shops around here are closed for the holiday and no auto-parts store had the right plugs), do the whole un-flooding proceedure i found in a thread, put the plugs back in, and it starts up, but has a rough idle. mind you its not the normal fluctuating idle, it's really rough.
i don't smell any fuel in the engine bay, but there is a lot of white smoke coming from the exhaust. so i assume maybe one of my injectors is stuck. i search the forum and find a guy with practicaly the same exact problem as me.
https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...8&page=1&pp=15
there's the thread.
they tell me it's the IAC valve. i dissconnect the IAC (they call it the ICS in that thread) and the clicking is still there. so, i go back to my theory on my injectors bein messed up. i removed the UIM, disconnected everything, and then turn key on and the clicking is gone. i'm like sweet, problem fixed itself. nothing ever fixes itself, so i go further to investigate. i start puggin in every selenoid on the UIM just to see if it's the problem.
IAC, nothin.
TPS sensor, nothin.
intake air temp sensor, nothin.
the other connector, nothin.
turbo-precontrol, bingo!

but now my question is:
what does the turbo pre-control have to do with my engine idling and running roughly? is it just a coincidence that this went out at the exact same time as something else? anyways, i'm gonna check my commander and see what all my sensors are reading. thank you anybody that takes time out of today to help me with this, i guess i'm the only kid willing to work today. if i get a response tomorrow tho, thank you still, i'm stuck here.

thanks again

mechanically i cant see anyway that the turbo precontrol would mess up your idle, (but maybe because the ECU detects a fault its electrically messing something else up) get it replaced , shouldnt be to hard, then let us know how you get on

Id say try connecting another solenoid to the wire for the precontrol solenoid first with the engine off - see if that one clicks on and off.

If it doesnt, then replace the solenoid

If it does, then look elsewhere..the problem will be with the solenoid control and not the item itself.

well i connected another wire to the selenoid and it didn't do anything. good.
i connected the turbo pre-con wire to the wastegate selenoid and the WG sel. did the same thing. so what could be making this certain wire cycle the selenoids constantly like that?
