Bad Secondary turbo?

i just would like to know is there any other signs of a bad secondary turbo? besides the smoke after it kicks in.. steve kan told me it was going bad but is there any proformace risk to it? like not boosting when they transition? i just want to estimate how much more the twins can take.. even if i have to drive like a grandma (which would save gas )

Shaft play, if you remove the rear inlet pipe you can assess that.

Driving like a grandma won't help a whole lot. When turbos are blown it just means the seals are leaking.
