Bad o ring or what??

A brief history:
I overheated my car at the track this year (by that I mean saw the stock guage move a little) the and was afraid I blew a seal. It used a small amount of water for a few months and the one night it started using alot (12 oz per 60 miles). The next 2 times I started it after that if was very rough until i reved it up and cleared it out with lots of white smoke. I was sure I was screwed and prepared for a new engine. Scince then it had used a little water (4 oz per 60 miles) but not nearly what it used to and starts and runs fine with no white smoke. Yesterday I was at the gas station filling up and forgot to turn my fans on and the car got a little warn and antifreeze started pouring out the overflow tank. From what I understand, this would not be a result of a bad seal or it would do it much worse under boost. Is this a faulty cap? I have eliminated the AST by the way. Or do I have both?
