Bad night at the track!!!!

I really was expecting to be somewhere in the 12s. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I was running 93 octane. They were out of the 106 unleaded.

I ran the car 10 times.
My 60 ft were between 2.14 and 2.26.
My ET were between 13.16 and 13.51
My traps were between 105.14 and 110.37.

I ran 13.2X... 6 times.

The temp was 70 degrees, 88% humidity and 29.91 pressure.

Car weighed 3060 with driver.

I think the scale may be broke or your car is missing some parts and fuel. The base models weighed in at 2780 with no gas in the tank! Mine was 2870 without me.

think 94s are a little heavier because of the insulation. also, he has aftermarket wheels (i assume bigger and heavier), tires. a 94 touring base on my stats weighs 2870.

.

NO the scale is correct. when you lose the precat, you take off 40 lbs and add only 8, when you lose the stock catbck for aftermarket you lose about 8 lbs, when you get rid of the CAT for a midpipe you lose about 20-25 lbs. I have aftermarket rotors which may or may not reduce the weight.

that was with 1/4 tank of gas and no spare tire, and an extra set of carpet installed. My model is the PEP (no bose, no rear wiper and no fog lights).

How much of that weight is the Bose? I heard that thing weighs like 80 lbs. I can see the wheel thing. The stock wheels weigh only 16 lbs, most aftermarket wheels weigh in the area of 30 + lbs.

Also, the weights of the RX7 from 93-95 were 2694 to 2880 depending on year, options, etc.

i think that the 80lb difference isn't from the bose alone, but also from the rest of the touring amenities. it's plastic for cripes sake!

The stock wheels weigh only 16 lbs, most aftermarket wheels weigh in the area of 30 + lbs.
He has racing hart wheels, which i think are pretty light.

The base models weighed in at 2780 with no gas in the tank! Mine was 2870 without me.
Curb weights are generally given with a full tank.

you defniately shouldn't be over 3000lb.

Those wheels will actually be fairly heavy. But u should be running faster times than those with all of your mods. Ever let someone else take your car down the track a few times? His car could way a lot more depending on his weight, spare time, floor mats, underhood bling and the like. In my car with mods in sig I pull consistent 2.1 60ft on $90 tires. Ever considered mounting some drag radials on your stock wheels? Also how many miles on the motor? Got any compression #'s of late.

From looking at your mods and your varied MPH and the times on your 60 foot it looks like your loosing all your time at the line. What boost were you running? A set of ET streets and some hard laucnhes will put you in the mid 12's with that MPH "110". Also looking to improve your 60 foots to 1.6 to 1.7ish for an ET in the 12's. Your right your should have been faster but the MPH tells the story that your car is capable of 12's.

All you need is a better 60 foot time. If you can get it down to 1.9 you'll run a 12.8 or so.

I have some ET streets I will be running next week. The motor has about 14K miles on it. the spare tire, jack, bose crap, are all gone. I do have an after market stereo system that weighs about the same as the bose. I am going to dyno the car within the next week. When I bought the car I was told (by a very reputable tuner MZM International) the car dynoed 341 to the wheels at 12 lbs on race gas.

Hopefully I will see those numbers or better when I dyno the car. I will be dynoing at 15 lbs.

Last time at the track my fastest trap was 113.26.

Assuming they are 18x8.5, they weigh 21.5lb
not light, but not 30lb either

I'm just jealous of your wonderful paint job. I had several people ask me if I was at the track. Apparently they think my car is as beautiful as yours.

That would be a good average weight because the fronts are 18X8 and the rears are 18X9.

the wheels might be light, but the additonal rubber will add weight also

Lightest was '93 base at 2789(5spd) with '93 touring (5spd) at 2862 and R1 at 2800. From the '94 and '95 brochure, they have the base at 2826(5spd) and auto at 2881.

Besides his wheels+ larger tires, I would say that the aftermarket intercooler added some weight. We also don't know his weight for reference.

I got my 2694 from the net, supercars.net. I assumed they got the stats from some mag.

All I know is im about 2700 right now (with out my spare tire, 1/4 tank gas).

Hey Fast I think the track you went to just sucks ***(RCR?). You went on a Wednesday and they DO NOT prep the track at all. When I ran out there it was pitiful too. My 60's were 2.2 consist. on cheap tires. I had a boost problem that night it was tapering down to 6psi around 5.5k rpm's. You should be well into the 12's with teh Rx7.

Ohh mine weighed in at 2975lbs with me in it and everything else. Spare, Jack, and what not. with 1/2 tank of gas and I weigh 175lbs.

Well, from what I heard about last night, it was pretty humid and everyone was running slower then usual. What were you launching at?
