Ian, glad to see that you are ok......hopefully you will not be too sore tomorrow. the scary part about this was that last night while i was sitting your car we were talking about having the air bag still in your car with the stock wheel and you said you liked it for safety reasons!!!! glad you had the stocker in there.

the pics of this car do not do it justice. it is one of the cleanest montego blue FD's in south florida...............BAD DAY = Crashing FD

sorry to hear out the crash

Thanks simon.....I was actually looking for your phone number this morning to call you and let you know about it......believe it or not, the first thing that came to my mind after the airbag blew was our conversation yesterday...random, eh?

Anyway, If I get to keep the car, I'm still probably going to replace the wheel with another airbag, but I'm curious about these other wheels with airbags I've seen (efini or nardi, not sure). A little sportier looking. Are they any smaller? anu info from anyone would be great.

Thanks again for all the kind words everyone...much appreciated.

-Ian

Sorry about the car, i've had a ton of close calls myself, almost getting into the same mess your in. It's always old people or someone on a cell phone. I'm just curious, do you know how fast you were going? Good luck with everything, and i hope it all works out best for you.

You've got a good eye...It is indeed downtown Coral Gables.

Wow, sorry to see your car like that, your car is so nice, hopefully you can make it even nicer thanks to her insurance company, I had a similiar accident and damage in my FC, but the girl that wrecked mine didn't have insurance, and I wasn't covered for collision........ but I got my car fixed, now its 2 colors and doesn't look that nice, but I am happy that I at least got to keep my baby. Wish you the best, good luck milking the old lady for what the FD is worth!!!

I don't think that the other persons insurance can total your car without your permission.

How many miles did your car have?

Sorry about the damage..... It's not that bad. The front passenger side still looks untouched.

Good luck!

Those were just the oil cooler lines. As long as it wasn't ran for a significantly long period - it will be fine.

As far as the damage that car is totally fixable.

Insurance company said it's a total loss.....They estimate the damage to be around $15,000 to repair. I'm having my body shop do a realistic estimate, then I need to dispute USAA's "total loss" estimate.

What a pain in the ***! As soon as I get some more results, I'll post it here.

I HAVE BEEN SO ANGRY THE LAST COUPLE DAYS! AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have always had good experiences with USAA. I doubt you will get what you believe the car is worth(we never do), but everytime I have delt with them they have been very fair. Sorry to here about your loss, but at least your ok.

Ian,

I met you at Edgars, sorry to hear about your loss. Don't let them total the car. What does Edgar have to say about the damage? Hell I'll call him in the morning.

Be ready with replacement costs, not just KBB values.
