Bad Ignitor or coil? car dies after 15 minutes

Trying to troubleshoot an issue where an FD runs for about 10-15 minutes and then suddenly dies and will not want to restart. The car runs good and starts up fine from a cold start. Once driven for about 15 minutes the car sputters and dies. It will crank, but will not stay running until the car cools off for maybe an hour or two. I did identify an issue with the fuel pump and wiring looking burnt and replaced it, but still the same issue.

Had done a search and only found one thread that would lead me to believe an ignition issue, but was wondering if ignition failures are common?

what did you correct about the fuel pump besides the wiring?

was actually just the pump and connector at the the tank. I saw the upgraded pump wiring after the I replaced it with OEM.

before chasing ignition, rule out a drop in fuel pressure. your situation is a little different than what normally happens but i would suggest checking it anyway. install a fuel pressure gauge and see what the prime/cranking pressure is when its giving you a problem. that o ring seat situation on the stock hanger can go bad. when my car had this problem, it was a little different in that it would run all day until you shut it off. then you would have to wait an hour or more for it to start again. ended up being a failed connection at the hanger to the pump. why it worked fine when cold and in operation, no idea.

you very well COULD have an ignition issue or something else entirely but your situation sounds a little too familiar to not suggest doing a fuel pressure check first

Had an issue few months back on an Evo it would bogg down after 3krpm under boost feels like a fuel cut after disabling the FPS putting a inline gauge could see the pressure drops at that point, started at the front of car injectors on bench made sure all ok, fuel pressure regulator stripped down made sure it's ok checked the feed and return lines all ok, finally worked to back of car into sender ended up being the fuel pump you get a few good pulls out of it then starts to bog down
Was a Walbro 400 only about 4 years off use but the fuels probably didn't help, now has a custom hanger with aem's version of the Bosch 044 pump
