Car died, ive tried everything. Trailing coil shot?

For summery look on bottom of post

It all started one day when i came back from work in my T2 89. I got home and let her cool down when I noticed she was idling a little more roughly then normal. So i turn her off and try and start her back up again, she starts then stalls several times before i was able to get her running again. Well i llet her sit till the weekend and she seems to be running fine and dandy till i drive to my friends house to do a small tune up. We time her (she was a little off) and get her running pretty smooth past 1k. So i go for a test drive to the local gas station where i stopped for no longer then 20 seconds and she dies right there (i did bring her up to 6k before this). Now all she does is start and stall.

MODS:
Full turbo back RB
850 injectors
Kouki 89 t2 Engine
emissions removed (sept BAC)
Cold start removed
S-AFC 2

What i was able to come up with and did so far:
Restabed the CAS
TPS good
BAC good
AFM Good
No vac leaks
I get fuel
Ignition Coil Error, yet i pulled plugs out and they sparked.
Floods after every crank.

If you keep the revs up once you start it will it not stall?

Test the ignition coil according to the FSM.

Try using the fuel cut off switch trick to have it not flood. If you don't have a switch, just have your friend plug/unplug etc. the fuel pump to achieve the same result (I'm assuming this is ok for it). For me, I crank it with my fuel pump off until it starts. Once it starts, I turn on my fuel pump.

it keeps revs barely only if i full throttle it. and not to mention i smell it run super rich. It seems that the trailing doesnt fire cuz they get soiled quickly and the engine sounds real weird.

Does the tach on the dash work???

If so, then your trailing coil is working.

^^^

That I would actually question a bit...

When I had first got the 86 beater (that one with all the headlight switch issues) the tach was dead as a door ****...BUT...the car ran mint, trailing coils still fired on time and everythign else, just the tach signal was missing somehow.

That would indicate to me that if the coil can funciton without giving a tach signal, then it could not funciton yet still give a tach signal as well....I could be wrong but this is just going by one personal observation

The tach working at all indicates the coil is fireing, however the tach not working could be several different issues not all of them coil related.

The trailing plugs are not even needed for the engine to run. You'd barely notice it if the only problem was a dead trailing coil.

If it floods every time you try to start it, and it smells very rich when it does run, I'd suspect a primary injector stuck open or leaking very badly.

Really just forget all about the trail coils. Not the problem in any sense.

Screwed up timing can cause problems but the car was not starting before you messed with the cas.

Jumper the fuel pump check connector and put the key to ON. Listen for flow thru the fuel rails and the sound of fuel being sent back to the fuel tank. Also for the sournd of the pump. If you hear the flow and the pump hummming then it's not a fuel pump/filter problem.

Pull the fuel pump plug off and spray starter fluid into the air filter. Then start the car. IF the car starts each time you do that, that's good and it is a fuel delivery problem OR afm problem. Make sure the afm plug is secure. Remove it and reseat it.

Look for some large vacuum hose that fell off the engine. LIke the check valve that goes into the intake duct to the turbo, the hose to the bac valve, the blow off valve hose, the intake duct that mates with the turbo. Take it off and look for cracks at the mating ends.

WHAHAH thx for everything ppls, couldent of did it without you. Turns out a gimp previous owner crossed the secondary rear with there primary front, it works fine usually ( since they are all 550s) but when you add 850 cc injectors like i did it would flood the engine.
Anyhow i rewired everything and now everything is perfect. She friggin roars like an animal and all i need to do now is make it so she idles good.
