Unhappy Bad ground? Altenator?

This is related to bucking rx7 (https://www.rx7club.com/vforums/show...threadid=13094)

I put in a new battery (optima dry cell), and have seen vast improvement. the only time the car bucks now is when i have the A/C and headlights on at the same time. if i don't use the A/C at night, I'm cool.

there has to be a problem in my electrical system, but i don't know where to start. the more of a load i put on the system, the more problems i have with the car bucking. it seems to be fine above 3000 rpms, which makes me think it's the alternator, but i had it checked and it's supposedly ok (although it was some 16 year old kid at autozone). weird thing is, my dash lights and/or headlights never seem to dim.

is there any way i can test it myself? OR, could i have a bad ground somewhere? or am i way off base here?

if there's any electrical system gurus or write-ups out there, please let me know!

I have the same problem, although it only happens occasionally. It went away when I changed my spark plug wires. Then it came back. My check engine light came on and told me my air intake thermosensor was bad so I replaced it and the hesitation went away. Then it came back again the other day. It was bucking VERY badly last night. I'm going to try changing my ground wires next weekend and possibly adding another one. I know someone who had the same problem and new ground wires solved it 100%. I've also heard that the Power FC usually solves the problem.

hesitation and power issues

I have the same prob. I read in a recent search that a guy with a fd had the same issues and had to rewire a bad connection in his alternator harness.

i REPLACED THE BATTERY AND IT STOPPED FOR A FEW DAYS. I replaced the alternator and it stopped for a two weeks. then i disconnected my amp and it went away.(i then attributed it to a grounded positive wire). then I rewired the deck, gauges and amp and it was fine for two weeks. lights on, subs fully blasting, gauges on, everything. no prob....until last night i went to the liquor store and within one min my battery was drained and wouldnt start. on the way home the deck would cut out everythime i came to a complete stop.

I experimented last night to see what the prob was. diconnected the amp and cap and tested. she started ok today but still spurts when boosting hard in 2nd and 3rd. im taking it to the shop mon if i dont resolve it tomorrow
