Don't get excited just yet. The RX-7's you don't see are the one's in pieces in people's garages and shops. You should seriously consider some more research on this car before you jump into it just yet. Check out the newbie links in the forum.

Yep, and I might add that you should be prepared for a LONG search when finding the right one. It took me a little more than a year to find the one for me. Be patient, and learn as much about the car in the time being.

heh, in my case the car found me!

I was into V8s when my friends father told me they were selling their FD. I test drove it, & couldn't get over how quick the first turbo came on! I bought it 2 days later, sold my chevy stuff a few months later & have been modding the Seven ever since!

lots of 3rd gen's for sale right now on eBay.

Good luck, and definitely do lots of research before pulling the trigger!

i agree with what everyone said.... especially jonski...... the point that i wanna make is as far as prices go for fds usually u get what u pay for.... dont be fooled by a low price.... it could cost u even more than it would for one in good condition down the road because of all the malfunctions and jus stupid stuff that goes on with once abused fds

but good luck... check www.autotrader.com thatz where i found mine

I find it to be the easiest of all the vehicles I've owned. I'd rather do a motor rebuild on a single turbo FD then the valve train & cam on an V8.

I guess everybody has their own familiarities & I've become quite familiar with my car.

Re: thanks alot guys

I don't know if you're set on an FD, but my first rotary was a first gen...very reliable, not that fast but fun as hell to drive, and much easier to work on and learn with. Plus, you can find them very cheap if you look around.

This car is my first car. I've also had no prior experience with auto-mechanics before this car. On top of that, this car is not even my biggest hobby. However, I probably would have never worked up the ***** to start working on the car if it weren't for Mindphrame.

You can do anything if you have the love for it.
