AWS Solenoid?

can anyone tell me what the aws solenoid is for, also i tested mine with a multimeter and it is out of the parameters that the manual says are acceptable, so what kind of problems would this cause if this sensor is bad, can anyone enlighten me please. tia

Its the active warmup system and alot of people disable it anyway.

It revs the engine to 3000 rpms on cold start. Not Mazda's best invention.

it's something they put on USDM cars so that they could warm up the catalytic converter enough to meet cold start emissions
