Actually I believe this is somewhat incorrect. When using almost all FMICs (aside from XS, RX-7 fashion) the radiator has to be re-located into a standing up position (as we all know). As a result, less airflow to the radiator is generated, and the airflow that makes it past the FMIC can go anywhere because there is nothing directing it onto the surface of the radiator. However, with an aftermarket FMIC and shroud, it can in theory as herblenny stated, alter that airflow more so onto the radiator.

I actually have a shroud similar to herblenny's manufactured by Garfinkle, I am however in the process of altering it slightly. Very nice finish and fitment.

On another note, I think if you eliminated the stock IC duct and are now just using the shroud, I believe you are in fact hurting airflow to the stock IC because there is no longer an air scoop that comes down into the front fascia opening to draw air up into the IC. Are you running a Power FC & Commander by any chance, I am curious if you have any before/after intake temp comparisons.

The shroud does look nice though, good work.

I initially got it thinking that it would lower my coolant temp.. But I don't think just the cover cooled it down..
Thats really nice and exactly what I want. Minus the part for the A/C. I wish it was in CF, because it would retain less heat.

However with aftermarket filters would be a different story.
It doesn't appear to be a good replacement for a IC duct. The fit is not tight all the way around the IC.

If your into that sort of thing it looks pretty good. The problem is that it fits the stock battery and IC. If your into performance at all the stock IC is one of the first things to go.

Btw, i did mention in the other thread that if you send me your measurements i will customize it for you. This shroud is for MY setup.......i also said that i have a block of aluminum waiting at the shop rdy to be made for whoever orders one. If you don't like the rotors (i wouldnt know why anyone wouldn't) they can be closed also. If you dont like the color you can change the color. If you want your name engraved on it you can have that! I didnt not say that you yoursefl would need to trim it. I said its basically the same thing all it will need is some trimming(which i would do if measurements are provided)

Alright guys just because I really want you to see how good this shroud looks in person, I been thinking and i'm lowering the price to $399. Basically you'll be paying for the material the polishing and half hour of labor. Let me know if you guys are intrested now.

Hey man, that's a nice looking piece of metal there, but for that amount of money you had better have some hard data showing that this is helpful. How did your product make your car better? Did it decrease intake temps? Water temps? How much weight does it add? Why should people buy your product rather than an upgraded intercooler or radiator?

I'm not trying to deflate your business, but you've got to know your market here. Most of the people who would buy that type of device are: 1) not running stock IC and 2) the type of people who want proof not promises.

It is some nice CNC work though, where in CA are you located?

I'm in northirdge, the shop is in Pacoima. My water temp dropped by 10 degree's but i can't promise that for every car. Just like a koyo raidator drops some cars 30 degrees and for others it drops 5 degrees. The weight of the plate is 5 pounds MAX. I weighed it and it came out to like 3.8 pounds but there is always that margin of error so i rather overweigh you guys then bullshit you.

There was a second gen guy who made these in carbon fiber awhile back. I am not sure if he still does.

I bought one.

I'll try to post pic later today when I get home.

Just as reference regarding RuffRyder's price. I paid 90 shipped for my shroud that is basically identical to herbleny's, manufactured by Garfinkle.

I think that if you reduced the price, you would sell a good number considering the positive feedback you received.

OK thanks, I think we're tired of seeing this thread. Keep it in the for sale section unless you've got something that's actually awesome or new or incredible to show us.

399? My opinion the price is very high for a piece of aluminum. How much w/o the polishing and/or designs?

Reminds me of this item which is 120.00 by signal and on the www.rxecret7.com website.
