AVC-R and Power FC

How is the Apexi AVC-R used with the PFC? Dont they control boost the same?

How does the AVC-R connect to the PFC?

I thought that if you have the PFC then you don't need the AVC-R becasue the PFC does everything the AFC-R does. I could be wrong though becasue I don't have either.
