AutoMeter Dual Pod.

I plan on getting a boost gauge and a water temp gauge for this pod, but not sure which brand to use.

My friend has the exact same pod and he's using a Defi boost gauge. I went over to Bozz Performance in Fremont and the guy tells me that only American gauges will fit.

Are any of you using the same pod but with Japanese gauges like GReddy or Defi?

Dan.

I am using the dual pod with both Autometer boost and temp gauges mounted on the A-pillar. Works fine except the temp. gauge reads artificially high readings compared to temps at the filler neck housing. Boost gauge works just fine.

The autometer dual pod holds two 52mm gauges, and seems like a lot of the japanese gauges are about 60mm.. so all u gotta do is dremel the 52mm to 60mm.. i believe greddy and defi fits..

Yeah that's what I was thinking and said that to the guy at Bozz but he said that you can only cut out a certain amount because of the angle of the gauge or pod or something, I forget.

The gauge I want is one that looks like stock, black face, while lighting up orange at night, which GReddy seems to fit this need, but also needs dremeling.

The Defi gauges however will fit perfectly, but they light up green and won't really match at night. These decisions are so hard!

I hear that the AutoMeter gauges are cheaper and also not as accurate.

Any truth to that?

Just a tiny bit off topic, but I've seen lots of 3rd gens with triple pods on the pillars. Who makes this? or how is it done?

There wasn't ever a triple a pillar pod for an FD.. they either fabricated it themselves or just got a dual and single a pillar pod and joined it together..
