Autometer Boost Gauge...

I'm not sure, if this is posted in the right place but, does anyone have or have used a black faced autometer boost gauge?

-Asking because, I just put one in and for some reason it barely lights up at all in the dark...Afterwards, I went back to autozone and bought replacement bulbs and got the same results...Is this gauge just really shitty or is something wrong?
-Thanks in advance.
