Automatic -> Manual
Can this be done easily? I'm looking into a car for a good price that needs a new engine but its an automatic. Would it be a big hassle to swap a manual transmission in there at the same time? Can they still be had new from Mazda or would I have to get a used one? Price range? Thanks.

actually if you find a good auto, it is less expensive to do the conversion then buy a 5 spd....
My experience....
8,000 for car.
349 for clutch
420 for all other items
8,769.00 pretty reasonable if you ask me.
And yes i was very patient in doing this, and most importantly i did it myself. If you do not plan to do this conversion yourself, please do not even consider getting an auto, for that matter an RX7.

Wow, where are you buying used parts man!? 5 spd tranny, fly wheel, diff, axles, drive line, ecu, pedals, starter, master cyl., console cover, etc. all for $420? Are you sure about that? If you pulled it off, good job dude!

I'm parting out my 5 spd '93 Touring. If you are interested in the parts, PM BanzaiToyota. He is the guy handling the car now since I'm moving to Portugal in a few months. Hope that helps. Laterz.
