ok so i blew the transmission that i JUST put into my fd yesterday and while i was at the junk yard looking for a MPV i found an infinity q45 with the transmission ready to be pulled out.
According to wikipedia this is the same transmission and should be compatable, the center case is visiualy identical to the RX7 and all of the electronics are in the same place.
The problem is when i placed them side by side it seems the q45 transmission is roughly a half inch longer (the center case, belhousing and tailshaft not being considered as they will come from the RX)
than the RX tranny.
is this going to be a problem? does anyone know why it might be longer? any other compatability issues i havent thought about?

if it doesnt work i might just pull the front drum assymble out of it and install it on the old transmission case (which blew the front drum only)

and please dont say "just have it rebuilt" if i had the money for that it would be done.
