auto shortblock on manual question - only found 1 thread on search(bad keywords?)

well i searched keywords Auto shortblock on manual
and got 1.. which has someone stating that there are numerous threads like this.. but none are found...

question:
shortblock from an auto fd. will it work on a manual fd? i heard there's a difference in bolts does it matter? will it affect anything?

reason: i am over the 100k oem hill... still runnnig strong but i want life insurance.. (a motor i can prep and instantly swap if anything goes wrong..) and there is a cheap auto shortblock oppurtunity.

Thanks

Yes. Otherwise, the guys doing the auto -> manual swap would be SOL.

It's vice versa that doesn't work...you can't use a manual short block with an automatic tranny.
