auto to manual - clutch safety switch

auto to manual - clutch safety switch
Two questions about the starter kill safety switch:
1. Does the switch just disconnect the 12v signal to the starte until depressed?
2. If so, what wire do I tap the switch into? Does it matter which pin is which on the clutch?
If I am totally wrong, how do I wire in the the clutch safetly switch... searching was not too helpful.
