powerFC *can* work

it requires running both the factory ECU and powerFC and two wiring harnesses (ghetto as crap)

i wouldn't trust my motor/setup on that...do the swap

I have been using the pfc with an auto (and single turbo) for over a year with no problems, except that I blew up the stock tranny.

hmm.sounds like a crapshot.Dammit.I was hoping to be able to get a dp and high flow cat.but without the power fc things will get ugly. Can I run and intake and an exhaust safely without a power fc?If so then my next order of business will be to get the damn thing changed over to a 5 speed.Either that or im selling it and then im buying a 5 speed.

I've never heard of that mickey mouse OEM ECU + PFC setup. There was an Auto in last years sevenstock done by Tri-Point and he was only using the PFC.

You're other choice is a Buddy Club Racing Spec B compuer (piggy back ECU). They have a version specificly made for the Auto (spec B) and it can be tuned with software just like datalogic.

Yes, you can run a pfc in a auto rx7.

What you will lose is the "hold" function and the auto light will flash in the dash.

You can remap your shift points and still keep the hold button with the Buddy Club. Seems like a better choice for the auto. The only feature you loose that I like alot is to adjust the fan turn on temps.

I can verify this, I did it for about a year with no problems. Then I did the swap.
edit: no need for 2 ECU's, just swap the main one out and leave the tranny ECU alone.

Generally a stand alone ECU will allow more freedom when modding.
Power FC---Stand alone
Buddy ----Piggy back

Open a 2nd window with altavista babblefish and translate. Basically it's a piggy back (2nd ECU) which mostly controls fuel. The software is sold seperate (2 ver - dealer & home user) and is similar to Datalogic (new not old purple stuff)which runs on a laptop and is attached by a serial cable. ECU & software will run about $650. I am thinking of using it on my manual because of price.
