Is it worth it changine auto to 5 speed

i drive an auto right now, and i have no intention on making it a 5 speed anytime soon. my reason is that im usually in traffic here in los angeles, so im sure i would get tired. and i need to drink =p

i like sticks tho, on the tracks =p

 

im in the midst of a conversion... and from what i hear, its well worth it. some people have done it for as low as 2k. my total will prob. end up being a little over 4k, b/c im doing it right the 1st time. im getting a lightweight flywheel, and an act ss clutch put in, along with a lot of other new parts. your gears change from 3.9 to 4.1, which helps tremendoulsy off the line. also the auto tranny in our cars is only good up to around 300hp. after that, start looking for a rebuild soon. also instead of a redline of 7k its 8k, another reason the auto trannyh sux.
imo rx7's should have never come in auto's. its a sports car. i bought mine as an auto because i got my car for such a good deal, and i bought it with the intentions of making it a 5speed.

Nothing about auto or manual tranny's here. This is to squelch the impending, inevitable 'sports cars should be a manual' debate. Let's just pass on this - this one time - and let each of us decide for ourselves what defines a sports car. And this is coming from someone who converted his FD auto to a manual.
